Back in early 2026, I was preparing a new trial that required collecting weeks of sleep diary data from shift workers. At the time, I was looking for a digital sleep diary that was flexible enough for research, but most options were either too inflexible or too expensive. After a while, it felt like it might be more straightforward to build something myself. In fact, this had been on my mind since my PhD, but I did not have the skills at the time.
As AI coding became more accessible, I began experimenting and gradually developed two tools: CircadiaLog and CircadiaStats, which I later brought together under CircadiaLab. As you might have guessed, Circadia reflects the focus on circadian rhythms, and I dropped the n simply because it sounds better.
My design philosophy was straightforward. I wanted to create something that feels like it was built by a researcher, for researchers. Hopefully, it is useful for people working in the field of sleep and circadian science.
Products
CircadiaLog
Data Collection & Study Management
Run the full lifecycle of a sleep study on a single platform, from consenting participants through to structured data export. CircadiaLog is a web-based application (with native iOS and Android coming soon) that gives research groups a flexible environment for running complex protocols without compromising participant privacy.
